Formal opening of online specialized course Fundamentals of Quantitative Investment offered by the University of Toronto
Recently, 19 students of SBS have been selected by the Faculty of Finance, the Teaching Affairs Department, and the Office of International Exchange to take part in the online specialized course Fundamentals of Quantitative Investment offered by the University of Toronto. The program has been formally opened.
This course provided students with special lectures, online seminars, live interactions, and exchange activities covering basic investment theories, trading strategies, risk and return measurement, and the engineering of new investment instruments. By the end of the program, students would know how to assess cash flows and the monetary value of time, and understand financial derivatives and how to price them, the risks they pose, and how to mitigate (hedge) those risks and be successful in their careers.
By learning this course, students would acquire sufficient professional financial knowledge and quantitative skills, update their cognition, and be able to apply what they have learned in practice. They will also accumulate more experience, expand their international vision, and enhance their career competitiveness.
