The final round of the 2025 Shanghai Campus Competition on Overseas Safety and Etiquette concluded successfully on the afternoon of November 15 at the Shanghai Radio and Television Art Center. A team of three students from our university — Ma Xinlan and Zhou Mo from the Faculty of Business and Economics, and Zhao Zonger from the Faculty of Hospitality Management — performed impressively, earning recognition for their international awareness and understanding of safety and etiquette abroad.

The competition was organized by Shanghai People’s Broadcasting Station and supported by the Shanghai Municipal Government Foreign Affairs Office, the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, and the Shanghai Culture and Tourism Administration. Over the years, the event has become an established safety-themed contest for local university students, attracting growing participation and attention. This year, 18 teams from different Shanghai universities competed in the finals, which tested their knowledge of consular protection, cross-cultural practices, financial safety, and real-life case analysis.

Throughout the competition—including a rapid-fire quiz, a buzzer round, and a case study session—our university’s team remained calm and cooperative, demonstrating solid preparation and teamwork. Our university received the Outstanding Organization Award in recognition of both the students’ dedicated efforts and the institution’s ongoing commitment to international safety education. This was our university’s second year taking part in the contest, reflecting its continued emphasis on preparing students for safe and respectful experiences abroad.

Moving forward, our university will continue to encourage students to engage in high-level academic contests and hands-on activities that broaden global perspectives, strengthen cross-cultural communication, and improve risk prevention skills—all essential to educating a new generation of capable and globally aware youth.
