“College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship” Online Program of California Polytechnic State University Successfully Launched

      Recently, 27 students of Shanghai Business School (SBS), selected and organized by the Students’ Affairs Office and the Office of International Exchange, have taken part in the “College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship” online program organized by California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly). Currently, the program has been successfully launched.

      At the first class on Zoom, teachers from Cal Poly gave a detailed introduction to the university, and held a launching ceremony. Students also received training about how to present graduation speeches upon the conclusion of the program, and engaged in ice-breaking activities under the leadership of program assistants and six college students from Cal Poly.

       Program Coordinator Ms. Diana Santiago and Program Assistant Mr. Daniel Jaramillo, both from the College of Global Educational Exchanges of Cal Poly, presented speeches at the launching ceremony. Chen Huixuan, a student from the Faculty of Business Foreign Language, also spoke at the ceremony on behalf of our school.

      The “College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Courses” organized by Cal Poly, with a total of 40 class hours, aim to improve students’ innovation and entrepreneurship knowledge and leadership and collaboration skills and teach them how to apply what they have learned in practice. Focusing on these topics, the program offers a series of special lectures, online forums, live broadcasts, and exchanges. The contents of these activities cover many fields, including analysis of successful innovation and entrepreneurship cases, innovation and entrepreneurship guidance, development and implementation of business models, profit strategies, competitiveness analysis, sustainable development, collaborative leadership building, cross-cultural communication, and teamwork. Upon the conclusion of the program, students will display their learning outcomes to professors in the form of online English speeches. In the process of transforming their innovation concepts into commercial products and technological values, students will fully exercise their business awareness, innovation thinking, public speaking skills, and teamwork ability.
