To broaden students' international academic horizons and build a cross-cultural communication platform, the School of Business and Economics selected three graduate students to fully attend the online workshop courses offered by the University of Toronto's Department of Mathematical Finance from May 6 to 8. The students completed the study of two modules: Sustainable Finance and Social Fintech, gaining in-depth exposure to cutting-edge international financial theories and practices.

The courses were delivered by a distinguished faculty team from the University of Toronto. Sustainable Finance focuses on green finance, the ESG investment framework, and financial innovation under sustainable development goals, guiding students to explore how financial instruments can advance coordinated environmental and social benefits.
Social Fintech centers on AI-driven fintech risk governance. Combining real cases such as the 2025 power grid failure in Spain, the course analyzes systemic risks arising from technological application and corresponding coping strategies. The curriculum integrates solid theoretical depth with strong practical relevance. During the online sessions, students engaged in synchronous discussions with international peers and faculty, immersing themselves in cutting-edge professional knowledge.

Participating students stated that this international course broke the boundaries of traditional classroom learning. They not only systematically mastered the core theories of sustainable finance and social fintech, but also improved their cross-cultural communication skills and critical thinking abilities through international case studies and group discussions.
The in-depth interpretation of topics including AI financial risks and energy system resilience by professors provided students with brand-new research perspectives, laying a valuable foundation for their future academic research and career development.
This collaboration marks an important initiative of the School of Business and Economics to promote international talent training. Moving forward, the School will continue to expand international educational resources, build more high-quality exchange platforms for students, and cultivate interdisciplinary financial talents with global competitiveness.
