University of Aberdeen Visits Shanghai Business School, Exploring New Directions for International Exchange and Cooperation

On the afternoon of October 13, Dr. Xiaoqing (Joyce) Chen, Director of Internationalization at the Business School of the University of Aberdeen, UK, visited the Zhongshan West Road Campus of our university for discussions regarding international exchange and cooperation between the two universities. The meeting was attended by Yang Bing, Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation of our university; Li Zhigang, Dean of the School of Business and Economics; Cao Jing, Dean of the School of Business Administration; and other faculty representatives. The meeting was chaired by Yang Bing.

At the meeting, Yang Bing first extended a warm welcome on behalf of the university to Director Joyce Chen. She provided a comprehensive introduction to our university’s distinctive features and international development vision, covering aspects such as its history, undergraduate and postgraduate education systems, disciplinary structure, achievements in training international business officials, and foundation for international exchange and cooperation. Subsequently, Joyce introduced the general situation of the University of Aberdeen, including its history, international strengths, and the distinctive discipline development within its Business School. She also provided detailed information on the Business School’s international exchange and student progression programs.

During the exchange and discussion session, Li Zhigang and Cao Jing engaged in detailed discussions with Joyce on various topics, including joint talent cultivation for undergraduate and master’s degrees, credit transfer for semester exchange programs, and faculty and student exchanges. Both sides also outlined plans for advancing follow-up cooperation. This meeting explored multiple possibilities for inter-university collaboration, not only broadening our university’s international exchange platform but also laying a solid foundation for future sustained cooperation between the two institutions across various fields.
